The Global Student Assessment

Are you equipping your students for life "beyond the walls"?

We equip your team
to move beyond
informed to
transformed.

The Global Student Assessment partners with your school to equip your teachers and administration to measure what matters most. Then, we support you as you implement the changes needed to train your teachers to equip your students to imitate and reflect Christ.

The Global Student Assessment is the largest and longest ongoing assessment of Generation Z.

How Does the GSA Work?

Instead of asking conventional questions that focus on attitudes, actions, behaviors, and knowledge, the Global Student Assessment asks 27 questions and provides detailed insight into these 14 areas.
  • Head
  • Heart
  • Hands
  • Trust
  • Formation
  • Causes
  • Outcomes
  • Understanding
  • Movement
  • Opportunity for growth
  • Motivation for growth
  • Integration

"After looking at our GSA results, we noticed a pattern of disintegrated thinking in our students. Although nearly 100% of our students affirmed they had a relationship with Jesus, many of them did not understand the concept of absolute truth or the Bible being the source of truth."
Director of Academic Affairs

"The GSA speaks to the heart and mission of Christian school education.

It challenges and equips school leaders to go beyond the status quo by providing tools to assess with Christ-centered accuracy and acknowledge the unique hearts of our students."

Dr. Jeffrey Mattner, ACSI Regional Director

What makes the GSA different from other assessments?

We believe that spiritual growth is not about checking boxes, memorizing lists, or voting for a particular candidate.

  • Spiritual maturity is when we reflect Christ in and through our lives (Ephesians 5:1-2).
  • Spiritual growth is when Christ is formed in us (Galatians 4:19).
  • Christ was concerned about the condition of the human heart.

"The Global Student Assessment is easily one of the most valuable tools I have encountered in 19 years in ministry. We are able to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of our school’s spiritual life, allowing faculty and administration to be specific in targeting what to focus on in discipleship."
Head of School

We believe there is a difference
between causes and outcomes.

  • Even "evil" people created in the image of God are capable of doing good things.
  • Jesus recognized the difference between a cause and an outcome (John 14:15, 15:14-15).
  • The GSA doesn't confuse attitudes, actions, and behaviors (outcomes) with causes and invites students to examine their own hearts.

How long does the assessment take?

The online assessment takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. The questions are

Christ-centered
and examine the heart as opposed to activities or behaviors. The result is, we can connect to the heart...with accuracy.

Is the GSA reliable?

The GSA has been rigorously tested over the years. In 2019, the GSA was independently evaluated for internal reliability using Cronbach’s alpha, yielding a value of 0.934, showing excellent internal reliability.
Since 1996, our ministry partner, Engaged Solutions, has been measuring what matters most with accurate assessments that connect to the heart. In 2008, the founder of our ministry was contracted by the Gallup organization to oversee and coordinate their Global Faith Field Advisor Initiative, and each individual question was run through the Gallup computer system. Over the past several years, we have quickly become the largest and longest, ongoing Christ-centered assessment, with over 100,000 students and schools from over 50 countries.
